Amy-Lynn Albertson is the County Extension Director for Rowan County. She has worked for N.C. Cooperative Extension since 2001. She has a MS in Horticulture from University of Tennessee and a BS in Horticulture from Colorado State University. Her responsibilities include; administration, master gardener coordinator, pesticide coordinator, advisor for NC Farm School, nursery, greenhouse, landscape and forestry. Amy-Lynn was a regular panelist on the UNCTV program Almanac Gardener. Amy-Lynn enjoys running and being a mom to her daughter Faith.

Aaron Moore is an Area Specialized Agent servicing Union, Anson and Stanly Counties in North Carolina. Aaron’s work is centered around Small Farm production and marketing as well as local food systems. Aaron grew up on a small family farm in the piedmont region of North Carolina and loved the lifestyle and experiences of farm life. Aaron has over 12 years’ experience in the agriculture and green industry working for higher education institutions and private industry. Interest include small scale meat production and season extension technology.

Lauren Hill began working for Cabarrus County N.C. Cooperative Extension in October 2015. She has a B.S. from Clemson University in Environmental Horticulture. She spent over 3 years working in private and public botanical gardens growing her expertise in ornamental plants including design, production and care. She loves spending time outdoors admiring nature but especially the flowers!

Morgan is the Livestock and Field Crops Agent for Rowan County. She has been with Cooperative Extension in this position for 3.5 years. Her programming areas are focused on Beef Cattle, Small Ruminants, Youth Livestock, Backyard Poultry, and Field Crops.

Susan Hawkins is the Horticulture Extension Agent in Davie County. Her duties include Commercial and Consumer horticulture. She has her degrees in Horticulture from the University in Georgia. Before she joined North Carolina Cooperative Extension, she worked in research programs on nursery crops. She likes being outdoors, especially hiking and gardening.

My family and I currently raise beef cattle on a small cow-calf operation on the family farm in Stokes County. I have experience with swine, sheep, goats, and horses. We raise our own hay and rotationally graze our pastures. I am a member of the Piedmont Emergency Animal Response Team (PEART). I have been with Cooperative Extension since 1998, and worked in Forsyth County since 2005.

I started in N.C. Cooperative Extension in June of 2020. I graduated from the University of Mount Olive with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Production Systems with a concentration of Animal Science. I serve as the Livestock & Field Crops Agent in Cabarrus County.

I have been in Extension for 4.5 years with NC State, and with UF/IFAS Extension for 6.5 years prior. My main program activities focus on residential and commercial horticulture, and small farms. My specialty is turf grass management.
At this time we are planning to host the NCFS Southern Piedmont program online adhering to all safety protocols to ensure the health of all those attending. We still intend to host farm field days out doors and in-person. We will adhere to restrictions on attendance based on the guidelines on the date of each field day.
