Two volunteers from Burke County attended 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Conference February 1-3, 2019 in Raleigh. The delegation joined more than 190 4-H Volunteers from across North Carolina. While at the conference, delegates had the chance to participate in interactive workshops on topics ranging from robotics to social media, learn with others from across the state, as well as elect and install new officers for the North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Association. During the conference, attendees celebrated and recognized 4-H Volunteer award winners and helped celebrate the achievements of those reaching new 4-H ACE levels.

4-H Volunteers who attended from Burke County were Peggy Carpenter and Lisa Hanlon. Lisa assisted in leading a workshop on Easy STEM activities for your club, while at conference. Both volunteers have been elected as officers in the West District Leader’s Association for 2019 and were recipients of the North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leader Association’s Conference of Southern States Scholarship to attend the regional volunteer conference held at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Georgia.
