10th Graduating Class of NC Farm School
NC Farm School Graduated it’s 10th Class!!!
Thursday, June 29th marked a special occasion held at First Fruits Farm in Louisburg, NC. This was more than just a graduation it was a time of story sharing and fellowship around a common cause. Farming is a profession and a viable business in North Carolina but celebrating a journey around agriculture is what the Eastern Piedmont NC Farm School came together over that evening. Each member of the 2017 NC Farm School class has a story about their connection to farming. For some it was a faith journey such as Jason Brown(second from the left), host of the evenings festivities. Jason boldly tells that God clearly called him to farming to be productive for his local community. For Jason and others it is also about stepping out to do hard things and taking risk around a life passion. Erin Selling (fourth from the left, in red and blue) has always had family land in Eastern North Carolina. Her story was centered around keeping the family land productive and remembering a time when her family would sell produce to tourist at a road side stand. The common bond they share is the desire to see agriculture in North Carolina survive and keep the next generation connected to a profession and a land they love. This is also NC Farm Schools story and part of the mission.
Congratulations to the 2017 NC Farm School Eastern Piedmont class. We wish you the best on your farm business en-devours and we hope you will stay connected to your passion for agriculture.
